Andrew Luck just can’t gain any traction for the Indianapolis Colts.
Luck suffered a kidney laceration and an abdominal tear during Sunday’s 27-24 win over the Denver Broncos at Lucas Oil Stadium. The Colts quarterback is expected to miss 2 to 6 weeks with the injury, according to the team.

This is another setback in a disappointing campaign for Luck, who already had missed two games earlier this season with a shoulder injury. Luck played well in Sunday’s win, but the 26-year-old has just a 55.3 percent completion rate. Only Peyton Manning (13) has more interceptions than Luck’s 12 this season.
Matt Hasselbeck, who stepped in when Luck was sidelined for Weeks 4 and 5, now figures to be Indianapolis’ quarterback when the Colts come off this week’s bye and face the Atlanta Falcons on Nov. 22. He’s not much of a fantasy football option, but the 40-year-old guided the Colts to victories over the Jacksonville Jaguars and Houston Texans, throwing for three touchdowns to zero interceptions.
Luck’s injury comes at a bad time for the Colts, who lead the AFC South with a 4-5 record. They’re coming off an impressive win after three consecutive losses, and Luck’s continued improvement — health-wise and performance-wise — was expected to provide a huge second-half boost.
