The NFL’s Monday night late-night special was a total dud, so Kevin Harlan tried to create some excitement on his own.
Early in the fourth quarter, with the San Francisco 49ers blowing out the St. Louis Rams, a presumably intoxicated fan got on to the field and started running around like a mad man.
Instead of ignoring the fan as TV and radio announcers are wont to do, Harlan — calling the game on the radio for Westwood 1 — broke into play-by-play as the fan scampered around the Levi’s Stadium turf.
It was, in a word, glorious.
