BOSTON — It wasn’t quite Bucky Dent-esque, but it was pretty darn close.
The Red Sox had their backs against the wall Monday in Game 3 of the American League Division Series and already trailed the Cleveland Indians by one run entering the sixth inning at Fenway Park. That’s when an old friend victimized them with a back-breaking hit — just not a guy you’d expect.
With one out and a runner on second base, Indians outfielder Coco Crisp — yes, that Coco Crisp — took Red Sox left-hander Drew Pomeranz deep for a two-run home run into the Green Monster seats to give Cleveland a 4-1 lead. The Indians held on for a 4-3, series-clinching win.

To say Crisp’s homer was unexpected would be an understatement, especially for Red Sox fans, who saw the light-hitting outfielder tally just 21 homers total during his three seasons in Boston from 2006 to 2008.
Oh, did we mention he’s 36 years old and just signed with the Indians on Aug. 31?
