As the quiet first period came to an end, Trevor Zegras scored the game-opener. With less than three minutes left in the period, a pair of mistakes from the Bruins led to the first goal of the game. And before the first game to an end, the Anaheim Ducks would score one more off of the stick of East Longmeadow’s own Frank Vatrano.

The Bruins came back in the second with a goal by forward Elias Lindholm, who was assisted by both David Pastrnak and Mason Lohrei. The goal allowed Pastrnak to extend his point streak to an impressive 14 games.

The assist would be Lohrei’s first of two, as he also assisted on Morgan Geekie’s goal with 1:11 left in the third period. The goal was initially called off for goaltender interference, but a Coach’s Challenge would allow the goal to stand and send both teams to overtime.

The goal would prove special for two reasons. For one, it marks a career-high 18 goals for Geekie. Additionally, the assist by Brad Marchand tied him with Phil Esposito for 6th most in Bruins’ history.

The game went into overtime, guaranteeing both teams a point. But it would be Leo Carlsson for the Ducks who would score, giving them their first four straight wins all season.
